Chapter 1

It was a perfect day. The sky was at its brightest blue. And there were fluffy clouds with rainbows connecting with each other like bridges. Sana was riding on a pegasus with the breeze blowing in her face without a care in the world. Life was good.

Sana! Sana! Wake up. You're going to be late for school,” said her mom gently shaking her awake.

Sana opened her eyes and realized that all that fantasy was just a dream.

Good morning mom. I've just had the best dream last night.”

Her mom smiled. “That's wonderful sweetie,” she said. “Now run along, breakfast is waiting for you downstairs.”

Okay mom,” said Sana. As her mother left the room, she said the dua for waking up. “All praise belongs to Allah who revived us to life after bringing us death and to him we shall return.” Then she got dressed and headed downstairs for breakfast.

Sana is six years old. She has fair skin, blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She has a very bright imagination and loves fairy tales. She lives with her parents in Greenfinch suburbs, in Minnesota.

After breakfast she slipped on her backpack and waited for the bus to arrive. Just as she was waiting, two of her best friends; Jasmine and Aisha, came to join her.

Assalamu alaikum Sana,” they both greeted her.

Wa alaikum salam,” she replied. “Are you ready to

play pretend?”

You bet! I hope you got your pretend friends ready too,” said Jasmine.

What's that? Oh yeah. My friend, Gigi, is ready,” Aisha pretended that her imaginary friend was talking to her.

So is my friend, Daisy,” added Jasmine.

As well as my friend Ruby,” said Sana. “Is everybody

ready?”

Yeah!” exclaimed Jasmine and Aisha.

Playing pretend is their favorite game. They play it every time while they've waited for the school bus to arrive and pick them up. And they all ran around the yard pretending to jump from cloud to cloud and slide down on all of the rainbows in the sky.

Beep! Beep! Honked the bus interrupting their game.

Oops, the bus is here. Hey, maybe during recess we can finish the rest of our game.” Sana suggested. Her friends agreed and they all climbed on board.

Jasmine is an African American girl. She and Aisha are both six years old . And she is Sana's next door neighbor just like Aisha. Aisha is Arab American. She is fluent in Arabic and English. She is disabled and gets around mostly by wheelchair. But, that doesn't stop her from having fun. They love fairy tales and they usually talk about them on the bus while they are riding to school. And they all wish that fairy tale creatures were real so that they can play with them anytime they want.

But, what they didn't realize was that they were going to have a surprise visitor later that day.

Meanwhile, somewhere up in the clouds lies a secret enchanted world called; Dreamalandia. It was a wonderful place filled with enchanted animals, unicorns, pegasi, butterfly-winged pegasi, butterfly-winged alicorns, dragons, and enchanted ponies. And they all lived together harmoniously in peace. It was like paradise.

And there lived a pegasus who was curious about the human lives on Earth. Her name is Salwa. She has magenta fur, purple hooves, purple eyes, red mane, a red tail, and golden yellow wings. She have heard and

read millions of stories of all of the greatest humans that have ever lived, including all of the prophets (peace be upon them all). Now she wants to meet a human girl in person. One day she decided to talk with her parents and ask them if she can befriend one.

Mom? Dad? Can I have a talk with you?” she asked them.

Sure. Is there something wrong sweetie?” her father replied.

No, it's just that I really want to become friends with a human girl,” she answered.

Her father raised an eyebrow. “And why?” he asked.

It's just that I've really wondered what it's like to meet one,” she answered. “They do almost the exact same things we do, only different. And I've always wanted to explore on the planet Earth too.” she explained. Her parents got concerned.

Hon, you have to be careful when you're exploring a new place. It can be dangerous down there.” her mother

warned her. Salwa understood what she meant.

She knew that lots of bad things have happened down there like kidnappings, Earthquakes, wars and other disastrous things. Nothing like that has ever happened in Dreamalandia. But, she knew that not all humans were bad. So that didn't stop her from going.

Besides you have lots of friends already. And it's safe up here, so you won't have to worry about anything terrible happening to you.” her mother added.

But, I'm itching to meet a human in person. Oh please mom and dad. I'll be extra careful,” Salwa pleaded. Both of her parents looked at each other.

We'll think and talk about it okay dear?” said her mother. Salwa nodded and her parents retreated into a different room.

Do you really think that letting Salwa befriending some human children might be a good idea?” her mother asked.
