The Java chicken breed was developed in America. It is one of the oldest American breeds. They have black beaks, and black legs. The molted variety has a yellow beak. The feathers can be black,white,or both(molted variety). These birds are peaceful and good mothers. They are a decent size meat bird and lay good eggs. One of the oldest dual purpose American birds. Javas have a single comb and large wattles. They have 4 toes and can be in confinement. This chicken breed is very rare nowadays and hard to find in hatcheries.
